Having plenty of windows is another way to improve the morale of your staff. In the same vein as the type of lighting that the office has, windows allow natural light in, including all important sun rays, which are a source of vitamin D, which is a natural pick up. Health defects like seasonal affected disorder can be caused by a lack of sun and result in pretty severe depression, and with that, a lack of drive.
Temperature plays a big part in keeping your staff happy and productive, particularly in the extremes. There can be nothing worse than being stuck in a room that is too cold, or even swelteringly hot. Make sure that the air conditioning is always functional, but also monitored by a single person who works on the office floor. Should you allow every member of staff the control over the temperature then arguments are likely to break out! Be aware that the ability to open windows for fresh air is also of major importance, and will keep your employees feeling invigorated for longer.
